Philadelphia police raid on a Black Panther Party enclave in August 1970 in response to the assassination of Frank von Colln and the wounding of two other officers.
Frank von Colln, age 43, lies dead in his remote guardhouse after being shot five times. He was unarmed. The five convicted of his assassination were out to kill police officers that weekend.
