This page is for the remembrance of those neighbors who have passed on and had enjoyed many sunny days in Matthias Baldwin Park. Their friends and families have made a donation to the Friends of Matthias Baldwin Park and written these brief tributes about their loved ones. To place a permanent memorial on this page contact baldwinparkphilly@gmail.com for details.

Margo ("Nana") Murray
1951-2025

Margo was a beloved mother, grandmother, and neighbor of the park. Through a challenging time that included becoming a widow, fighting cancer, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Baldwin Park became her oasis, a place where she could take in nature's beauty and have daily park meet ups with her grandson. The park is so special to our family that when Nana passed away, her grandson came up with the idea of dedicating a tree in Baldwin Park for her, "I know that if I planted a tree there, Nana would sit under it every day if she could." We hope people continue to enjoy Baldwin Park, and Nana's tree, for many years to come.

Klaus Mordhorst
1939-2025

Klaus was a neighbor who valued the park, especially the bald cypress planted in 2022. He was an active member of the Friends of Matthias Baldwin Park and regularly helped in maintaining the park. He will be sorely missed.
