Movie Night
August 29, 2019
The Friends of Matthias Baldwin Park hosted about 80 attendees for a free screening of the movie Hugo on a lovely summer evening. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed this new event in the Park. Also, thanks to the Fairmount Park Conservancy Event Grant Program, which funded the event, and to Premiere Outdoor Movies, the vendor which did the set up, screening, and tear down.

If you haven't seen the article about connections between Hugo and Baldwin Park, see here. The automaton at the Franklin Institute inspired the story, and trains and early film-makers are key plot lines and part of neighborhood history.

By the way, at Movie Night someone asked me what type of tree a certain specimen was. We have a new tree identification guide on the website here.
A hint of fall colors and textures enlivens the set up.
The plot thickens.
Hugo with a view!
